Lipton Green Tea Caffeine Citrus Information in Questions
Lipton Green Tea Caffeine? before I go to bed, I like to have a Juice or tea by my side to drink through the night and I been drinking Lipton Green tea with Citrus for a few nights now, I didn't know there were Caffeine in it, 11 Mgs. per cup and I drink the whole 8 servings so that would make it 88 but It doesn't keep me awake! so I'm confused I sleep just fine, is this possible?

epic_laydown replied: "it also contains substances that relax you. I believe it's called Theanine. Also, if the beverage is bottled, it may not contain all the caffeine it says. Most of those drinks are just sugar."

Lori S replied: "Some people are not as affected by caffeine as others. Maybe you are tired when you go to bed and the caffeine does not interfere with your sleep. You could have built up a tolerance to the caffeine if this is something you drink regularly"

Anybody know if they make a decaffeinated version of Lipton's Diet Green Tea with citrus? I am pregnant and am addicted to Lipton's Diet Green Tea with citrus. The only thing I don't like is that it has 15 mg of caffeine per every 8 oz. Anybody know if they make this without caffeine?

germansolider replied: "not that i know of :/"

Me Want Cookie! replied: "wel they make tea bags and and unsweetened decaf mix and diet decaf mix they dont make any diet decaf bottle green tea"

Does Green Tea have a lot of caffeine? I just bought a carton of the Lipton Green Tea with Citrus. I am wondering compaired to regular tea, does green tea have much caffeine. I have bad migraines and regular tea usually keeps my migraines to a minimum.

chickadee_ajm replied: "No it has less than regular tea. I don't have the box with me, but on my green tea box it shows the caffeine of reg tea with green tea and green is much lower."

Ellis replied: "An average 6-oz. cup of green tea contains about 30 mg of caffeine. For comparison, coffee has about 100 mg per cup. And I believe tea has more than coffee. Next itme you should look for decaffeinated green tea, it exists I have some!!"

scruffyM replied: "greentea has less caffiene than ordinary tea. You would have to drink two or three cups to each one of gren tea"

chris w replied: "Experiments have shown that tea after a first 5 minute brew contains 32 mg caffeine. This is a very interesting article. "

Sean F replied: "Green tea has very little caffeine compared with normal tea and nowhere near as much as coffee but I wouldn't drink that Lipton rubbish I would buy Clipper, Twinings or Jacksons of Piccadilly. Jacksons is the best lemon infused green tea I have ever tasted, their orange infusion is also good. Try Clearspring Japanese Mu or Hojicha tea and Clipper Jasmine tea as well."

BREW replied: "there is nothing wrong with a little natural caffiene as long as you have a good source (i.e. Red Bull vs. Chocolate). Dont fret about the levels of caffiene unless you have a health condition that you must regulate. If you eat/drink everything in moderation you'll never have to worry about your caffiene intake. Its a great way to spruce up @ work, open up your mind to think more clearly and also a little pick me up to chase after your kids."

bouncer bobtail replied: "Green tea is basically young tea. It has about half the caffeine. Red tea - Roobiosh is a different plant altogether and has no caffeine"

Eric B replied: "Green tea does not contain as much caffeine. This is not simply because its a younger leaf as stated above. It has more to do with the fermentation process. Green tea goes through a much shorter oxidation process. Your "regular" tea, is really black tea and has been allowed to completely oxidize. White tea is from young tea leafs to correct the person who said that of green tea earlier. This is also not oxidized after the leaves are picked. Diet Green Tea with Citrus 11mg per 8oz Diet Iced Tea with Lemon 20mg per 8oz Green Tea with Citrus 11mg per 8oz Iced Tea with Lemon 20mg per 8oz"

lookin4hope replied: "You can buy the decafe version of the same brand next time if you are worried about the caffeine. But neverthe less I believe green has less!"

kathy w replied: "It does have caffeine, but less than regular tea and less than half the caffeine content of coffee. Why not try Decaf, I'm sure that you could by that."

Is Diet Lipton Green Tea with citrus good for you? So I am trying to clean up my drinking habits (meaning cutting sodas out of my diet except maybe one a day) I am drinking water mostly but I also drink a fair amount of this diet lipton green tea with citrus...green tea is supposely good for you but what I am wondering am I losing the goodness for all the other chemicals in it? Is it just as bad as drinking soda? Or am I really doing my body a favor? I know caffeine makes your kindeys work harder...so should I be avoiding this, if I am concerned about my health?

christa v replied: "I am a weight loss counselor and any green tea helps clean out your system, you have to be careful though on not to drink to much.It will help clean your system of all the sodium build up but I have to warn you drinking to much will make u go number 2"

mizfurrocious replied: "Check what the artificial sweetener is, and if there are any preservatives. You could just make green tea yourself and drop a piece of lemon in. A cut- up lemon in a glass jar will last a week in my fridge. It would be a lot cheaper, and more environmentally friendly. Also, I have read someplace that green tea with lemon (with the peel) and honey has some kind of combo of micro nutrients that is good for the skin. I don't have a source for that, though."

PureDelight replied: "The bottled stuff is usually pretty bad for you. If you really want to drink green tea just make the hot stuff and add some lemon peel. Those bottled drinks are full of artificial sweetners and other junk that you don't need. Stick with the water and tea and you're in good shape."

Diet Lipton Green Tea with Citrus, why so much pee!?!? Does it have caffeine in it? Yes, no? BUT IT'S DIET! T____T HEEEEELP MEEE! I MEAN IT MAKES ME PEE A LOT!

Jodi C replied: "Green Tea is uncaffinated, it also works as a natural version of the water pill, You myfriend are most likely holding water weight and the tea is helping you out. Green tea clenses, try regular green tea though for better results."

Chanakya replied: "It does not have caffeine. Any drink will increase your urge to pee more. It is a good sign. Mix some honey to your tea and it will improve digestion and makes your tea taste better."

Tygrkat replied: "Unless it says otherwise, most green tea drinks have a little bit of caffeine in them. If it's a bottled tea, it probably has a little less caffeine than tea that you steep yourself. According to one website, Diet Lipton Green Tea with Citrus has 23 milligrams of caffeine per 16.9 oz. bottle, versus 15 milligrams of caffeine in 8 oz. of brewed green tea. An 8 oz. cup of coffee has between 80-135 mg of caffeine, for comparison."
